Teacher Training Lab

At The Lab, we offer a space where we engage with different subject matters as they relate to Pilates. Think of The Lab as the continuing education department of your course.

About

Here, we create content specifically for students who are interested in a deeper dive into certain subjects. You can expect to find offerings taught by our own faculty, as well as leaders from outside of our course. All offerings in The Lab are curated with the sole purpose of enriching our students.

Anatomy

Taught by Kristin Schley, Anatomy, is a course open to any movement professional. We dive deep into anatomy, physiology, relationships, and formations within the body that matter most to movement teachers. In this lab, you will cover levels of organization, anatomy and movement terms, planes of motion, the skeletal and muscular system, joints, and fascia. You will leave with a better understanding of anatomy and physiology, especially as this science relates to movement. This lab is 14 hours, taught over two days.

This course fulfills the RPC Anatomy & Physiology requirement. ACE, PMA, and NASM Cec’s have all been petitioned for and obtained by members of those organizations and more.

Additionally, as an intermediate or advanced practitioner of Pilates, you may find that specific transitions allow you to stay connected to the work and to your body while keeping a strong flow in your workout. These mindful and thoughtfully executed transitions become exercises in their own right and add increased coordination, strength, fluidity, and efficiency. Combining classical transitions with the classical order adds an extra bonus to the workouts for both you and your client, leaving you feeling energized and on top of the world.
